Academic Team - Nigel Upton

Nigel has over 20 years of experience of teaching business and management at postgraduate level. He has supervised hundreds of dissertations. His teaching includes corporate finance, supply chain management, people/HRM, operations and technology management. He also mentors business apprentices from junior executive to senior leader level. 

He has substantial non-academic experience as a manager and consultant. His consultancy clients have included government organizations, as well as small and large businesses. 

Qualifications

He has BSc, MSc and PhD degrees in Mathematics and an MBA (Distinction). He holds a teaching qualification from the University of Cambridge.

Research interests

Nigel’s career has encompassed research, teaching, consultancy and enterprise. He is particularly interested in the strategic value of IT and also in business management in Africa.
