The following is a transcript of Canvas: Your virtual learning environment.
Voiceover: While studying with University of Central Lancashire online, you'll find everything you need for your course within our digital learning environment, Canvas.
The dashboard is the front page. This is where you'll see a handy overview of your programme, along with any other important information.
As an online learner, your course material can be accessed from anywhere at any time. All you need is a laptop or smartphone and an Internet connection.
Your learning resources can include research papers, podcasts, textbooks and more. In fact, all assessments are submitted online as well.
Every week your tutor will post a new topic for you to discuss with your fellow students. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage with your course mates, learn from different perspectives, and further your understanding of the work that was covered.
You can also look forward to joining in on our regular webinars. You'll be able to catch up with your academics and talk about the week's content, as well as take part in conversations with the rest of your class. All webinars are recorded so you can watch them whenever you like if you can't attend them live.
You don't have to worry about going on this journey alone either. Throughout the course, you'll have the support of our online tutors and student adviser team.
You can turn to your tutors with questions about your coursework, while our student advisers will be happy to help you adjust to online learning and answer all your practical questions.
With Canvas you'll be well equipped to make the most of your course and enjoy your time as a student.
If you'd like to explore the platform in more depth, please contact our course adviser team for a one-on-one walkthrough.
